Lunch in Bath

Hi all

I’m after some recommendations for where to go for a midweek lunch in Bath. Ideally fairly central as I’m planning to tie it in with some shopping. Would be nice to have the option to sit outside if the weather allows. Easy in terms of genre - would be happy with a gastropub or something more unusual. We eat anything!

Thanks in advance!

It doesn't look like the place that we ate at is in existence anymore.

Hopefully this will bump for you though.

The botanist is lovely as is Clayton kitchen! Also love Bills and Browns have a patio to sit outside.

be careful I drove through Bath yesterday, the main bridge shut for a years mainatenance, traffic was a mare, and parking, forget it!

Haha! I saw this in food and recipes and presumed it was a request for one handed crumbless foods for eating in the bath!

ItsTimeForSomeMeTime · 05/08/2021 16:11

ha ha me too, i misread this and thought to myself "oh the decadence of having lunch while laid in the bath"

I too thought you were going to be posting about eating lunch in the bath.

Once, as a teenager, I ate an apple in the shower just for the hell of it.

Nameswaptime · 05/08/2021 16:19

I also thought this was going to be about eating lunch whilst enjoying a bubble bath.
I once ate a jam donut in the bath after completing a DofE expedition and (I suspect) suffering from hypothermia. Best donut ever.

The Crystal Palace is a nice pub that's central with an outdoor area.

Tagine Zhor is really nice if you like Moroccan food.

I love Martini, I go every time I’m in Bath.

We were in Bath at half term and had lunch at Bill's and had a nice time, they had some seats outside but we ate inside. Unisex toilets though Confused.

There are a bazillion places to eat. I like Bills, but they are everywhere so I’d probably head somewhere more interesting.

Manvers street has Salathai which has lunchtime meal deals and Yak yeti yak which is Nepalese food. Both indoors only, but you can always get an ice cream or a take away coffee and sit in Abbey square afterwards. Also on manvers street is The green rocket which does delicious vegetarian food and has a few outdoor tables.

Or you could head to Kingsmead square and the theatre area where there are lots of outdoor eating options. I like the kingsmead kitchen.

La perla is excellent. It's a Spanish/tapas bar in the underground vaults (so no outside space) but great food and atmosphere.

Sotto Sotto... Amazing food and lovely staff.
