Are they worth it?

I want one

Nope...used ours twice. Took forever to dry them out ( apple and plum slices) and then everyone got sick of eating them. Now languishing in the garage

I'll sell you mine. Used a lot for about two months. Taking up space ever since.

Oh dear. I thought it might be a good way of preserving my fruit and tomato gluts. Sad

I used to have one and bought it for the same reason as you, to use up garden gluts. It took forever to get anything dry. I guess a really powerful one would dry food quicker, but for the cost and space it used up, it wasn't worth it. I got rid of mine after a month too.

Our Ninja airfryer has a dehydrate setting but I've not tried it yet. We have some early drop cooking apples that I can try it out on and report back.
Something dual purpose like that might be a better option?
