How to sweeten very dark chocolate

SpacePug · 23/07/2021 21:30

I have a bar of 100% dark chocolate (subbed on shopping delivery) but it's soo bitter. Can I melt it, add some sugar? Or cream? Or something to make it sweeter/nicer and set it into moulds 🤔 any ideas?

I'm not sure about making it back into a bar of chocolate but you could make some amazing chocolate truffles or ganache with it. Have a look here:

You might just need to add a bit more sugar in to taste.

Melt it in the microwave. Stir in sugar, creme and anything else you have to hand.

Frozen raspberries make a great addition

Both good ideas thanks! I like the truffle idea actually, they need to be lactose free too but I'm sure that would be doable

Eat small amounts with something sweet, like icecream, melt on top of a slice of some sort, coat berries or cherries in it.

Or send it to me, I eat anything over 85% Grin

SpacePug · 24/07/2021 11:48

Haha Grin I've had 70/80% before but this is so strong, DH had to spit it out 😂 shame to waste it though

I don't like 100% either OP, I get you

Add a couple of squares to chill - makes the sauce richer but doesn't taste of chocolate.

Yes to the chocolate in chilli. Though, I put cocoa powder in mine as I want to eat all the chocolate.
