Swedish meatballs - simple sauce ideas

Today's Ocado delivery includes 2 of those vacuum packs of kottbullar which are already cooked, plus a jar of the lingonberry jam.

Last time I just sauteed in a bit of oil to brown them then added thick yoghurt and mustard to make a sauce.

Does anyone have any quick and easy ideas? Smile

Jamie Oliver tomato sauce. 2 tablespoons olive oil, oregano, garlic. Add three tins plum tomatoes, simmer for an hour.

When cooked, add three more tablespoons olive oil and one tablespoon red wine vinegar.

We mash ours down with a potato masher when it’s cooked. The original recipe included chillis but my kids don’t like spice.

Half bisto beef flavour gravy made thickly with water and half cream makes a great gravy, I often add a splash of dark soy sauce.

Make a roux, add some beef stock and a bit of Lea and Perrins, season - IKEA sauce

gravy made from granules with half milk and half water comes very close to the swedish sauce imo.
