What to do with oatibixs?

Bought oatibix for the toddler to try; but he won’t touch them.

Food bank can’t take them as the packet is open.

I don’t eat cereal and DH is fussy about it.

What on earth can I do with an almost full packet of the stuff?

Mix with weetabix (crush both) if your kid likes wb that is! Otherwise out for the birdies, I wouldn't stress too much over a pack of Oatibix TBH, you tried it, no one else will eat it.

I’ve turned weetabix into smoothies which go down well with my dc. Blitz two of them with 140g flavoured yogurt, one banana and about 150ml milk.
Or fry it in banana bread blog.lakeland.co.uk/recipe/oven-baked-banana-bread/

All bran loaf here I find any "sturdy" cereal works fine so just use the Oatibix instead of all bran. Nice with butter for breakfast. I've even used jam and marmalade in place of the sugar and that worked a treat.

Crunch up and ...

~ mix with grated parmesan (or cheese of choice) for a pasta bake topping

~ mix into a fruit crumble topping

  • use as you would panko breadcrumbs (or mix with panko breadcrumbs)
