I love porridge but usually stick to banana or berries for toppings.

What are your favourite porridge toppings? Might steal some ideas Grin

Stewed apple with Greek yoghurt and a sprinkling of pecans or walnuts. Maybe with a dash of maple syrup too.

Upupupintheair · 30/06/2021 07:23

Nutella!

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 30/06/2021 07:24

I like making a batch of fruit compote. Chop a couple of apples into bite-size chunks and fry in a little coconut oil. Add brown sugar and season with cinnamon and nutmeg. After 5 minutes or so add a pack of fresh or frozen blueberries. As the blueberries soften squish a few to get a syrup. Awesome addition to porridge - especially with a dollop of plain live yoghurt and a splash of maple syrup.

funnyoldonion · 30/06/2021 07:27

Dollop of cashew butter, raisins and honey and sliced banana, yum I love porridge but when it's too hot I have greek yoghurt with muesli, honey and fruit

MissyB1 · 30/06/2021 07:34

I use a mix of seeds
Sesame
sunflower
Chia
Flaxseed

Standrewsschool · 30/06/2021 07:40

Blueberries - usually buy frozen and defrost overnight (usually defrost 3-4 days at a time). I’ve tried defrosting/cooking them as the porridge was cooking, but finds the porridge goes too gooey, so I just add the defrosted ones. Yum!

FunnyWonder · 30/06/2021 08:10

Grated apple and raisins, thrown in before porridge goes in microwave or on hob (depending on how much time I have).

CrystalMaisie · 30/06/2021 08:13

Desiccated coconut

HeronLanyon · 30/06/2021 08:18

Rhubarb/ginger - I do big cook up when forced rhubarb comes in. Freeze it. Love it!
Blackberry coulis - annual harvest cooked and frozen.
Honey and lemon juice.
Stewed apple and ginger but with the apple still a bit chunky.
Love porridge !

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 30/06/2021 14:18

Almond butter, ground flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, drizzle of maple syrup, sometimes coconut yogurt, and whatever fruit - rhubarb lately (definitely going to try cooking it with ginger as a PP said!), also love cherries & blueberries cooked down, cooked plums, cooked apple. Porridge is my favourite because of the toppings!

violetbunny · 01/07/2021 09:43

Stewed apple with cinnamon, maple syrup

Imcatmum · 01/07/2021 09:57

Has to be granulated sugar and double cream.

Em2122 · 07/07/2021 19:06

I usually just add frozen ones to hot porridge and they defrost

GalaxyGirl24 · 07/07/2021 19:09
