Weve got a table booked for next Friday to watch the game in the pub. A mixed group of 6 middle aged friends, who for some sad reasons have been an absolute godsend to me over the last 12 months.
I was thinking of inviting them to eat here beforehand. I'd like to do something nice and substantial to soak up the beer, without spending hours in the kitchen. Something very informal but still nice.
No vegetarians or allergies, but one very fussy eater and two real foodies.
So I was planning to do a bit of variety in the hope of finding something fussy pants will eat.
So far I have a Nicoise salad, bread and cheese, a big bowl of strawberries and possibly bake a cake.
I feel like it needs at least one more. No problem if there are leftovers, it will mean I don't need to cook all weekend
I did think sausage rolls but not sure if they really "go". Or pork pies? Coleslaw?
