I want to do the thick fluffy pancakes for snacks, I want them plain like a normal pancake / crepe. Will it work or are they totally different ?

Drop scones that is what they are called.

Yes basically, plus a little sugar too. I always add vanilla essence to mine.

The recipe i use (super simple!) is 2 cups (250g) of SR flour, 300ml milk and 2 eggs.

Drop scone recipe(Bero). I use has lemon juice/essence added.100g SR flour/pinch salt/50g sugar/1 egg/60ml milk

Are you wanting scotch pancakes or American pancakes?

American pancakes tend to use things like cream, condensed milk, and buttermilk instead of milk.

No idea about scotch pancakes.

Try this recipe! I promise you won't be disappointed!

50g melted butter
1 egg
50g caster sugar
200ml milk
200g self rasing flour

100g of SR flour and 50g (can be less if you want) of caster sugar to every egg. Just add enough milk to make a thick batter. Pour on and flip only when bubbles come through.

I don't use any fat, neither oil nor butter, and I cook them on a plug in non stick smooth griddle. It's a Quest crepe and pancake griddle but any one, as long as it's non stick, should do.

For extra funsies I sometimes make mine with Baileys instead of milk and serve as dessert with a nice quality vanilla ice cream. Or I add cocoa powder and make chocolate scotch pancakes/drop scones.
