Sticky nougat on plate - urgent help please!!!

Made some for my MIL - real labour of love - and now can't the bl''dy thing off the plate - would love a top tip in the next 30 mins!!! X

I would try putting it in the freezer but it's not something I have experience of!

Could you place the plate into a larger, shallow dish of hot water, to sort of 'melt' the nougat a little?

I eventually got it off the plate - then flipped it in icing sugar - cut it up into pieces and it was perfect if I say so myself!! So nearly threw it in the bin! Labour of love - but it was delicious! Thx for your replies x

So, how did you get it off the plate?

With a dinner knife and very carefully - next time I'd put it on a non special plate! But it all worked out well and was delicious

Next time try lining the tin or the base of the tin with edible rice paper, stops it sticking

Another vote for rice paper. In the olden days nougat often came wrapped in rice paper.
