How long to cook spag bol

Normally i cook in the slow cooker for 6 hrs plus or do quick 40 min one on stove
So was doing quick 40 min one and now dh and da delayed getting home
Can i simmer on the gas for 2/3 hrs on low
And should I do with lid or without at moment I have lid off as on it bubbled too much and its on lowest gas and small ring

The longer the better! If there's the right amount of liquid keep the lid on, if it still needs reducing, keep the lid off. I do mine for hours on the hob.

No its in a saucepan and could do with reducing so think will leave lid on for another 10 mins or so then lid off as still quite a lot of liquid , doesn't seem to be sticking or burning so thats a good sign

On the hob for as long as you can. I do minimum two hours, then take lift off to reduce.

And always a glass of white at the browning mince stage for nyuh - red is good but white is better Wink

Only had red or rose blossom hill and didn't think that would work.
Thinking back to time I did spag bol at school and my mum sent me in with a mini wine to add to sauce , these days that would have me suspended
