Non alcoholic wine

Hi. We are having a big family BBQ in a weeks time. Can anyone recommend any non alcoholic wine that tastes reasonable and not too sweet. I last had some about 10 years ago and it was awful. I Want to get some for drivers.

Nope. I'd just get some really nice soft drinks. Belvoir cordials with sparkling water or their lime and soda. Robinsons do a lovely line and mint cordial that you can spritz up with ice and fresh mint for a virgin mojito.

I don't know anyone who would chose an alcohol free wine as they are all revolting.

I had an Eisberg Rose recently that was decent. i mean, you can tell it's not alcoholic but it still tasted enough like wine to not feel left out. Non alcohol red is not as successful, it tastes as if it's been left on the counter for a week. If I'm not drinking, I quite like tonic water with ice and lime. It tastes like gin.

To be honest, any drink is greatly cheered with a pretty glass and lots of ice. You can't beat an icy diet coke on a hot day.

I’ve been on a long quest for the best non alcoholic wine. I’ve concluded there isn’t one. Red isn’t worth trying IMO. And neither are rose or white, unless you’re going for sparkling. So, eg, Nosecco isn’t too awful. If you’re after non alcoholic beverages then I’d stick with either beer/lager, like Nanny State, which are actually pretty good. Other than that I’m doing as the PPs said and finding a good soft drink, sparkling elderflower and Belvoir lime and soda are my current favourites.

Oh and Sainsbury's Aromatised Low Alcohol Chardonnay Sparkling Wine (Taste the Difference range) is alright. You wouldn’t mistake it for wine though.

Don't bother, they are foul.
Isn't everybody bringing their own drinks?
If not, I'd get some posh cordials.

Just get nice soft drinks. Robinson's do a lime and mint cordial, mix with soda water, ice, fresh mint and a slice of lime. Make a big pitcher and then people can help themselves.

No, they're all horrible unfortunately. Plenty of nice alcohol-free beers though. There are also those alcohol-free spirit things, like Seedlip etc. Apparently they are quite nice, but I haven't tried them.

Thanks everyone for the replies. The consensus seems to be not to bother! I haven't tried the cordials mentioned, so I think I'll get them and make up a nicely decorated jug to go with my alcoholic sangria and Pimms.

I agree. They are rubbish. Non alcoholic beers and ciders are much nicer.

If I don't want to drink fake alcohol I like orange San Pellegrino, tonic water, soda and lime or elderflower presse.
