Anyone do a fab BBQ pulled brisket?

Hi all,
I've got a new slow cooker coming today and really fancy trying bbq pulled beef. Annoyingly, I've got all the ingredients except for soft brown sugar, which many recipes ask for. Do you think a tablespoon of dark honey would replace that ok?
Or does anyone have their own successful recipe I could pinch?
Thanks!

I'd say dark honey would be fine. I recently made pulled pork, recipe asked for molasses but I knew I'd never use it so just added some extra dark sugar. Lots of ingredients are interchangeable . See what it's like when you taste it, you might need to add a little more honey. If it doesn't go as syrupy as you'd like, decant the juices into a pan and boil to reduce while you are pulling the brisket.

You can use any kind of sugar, it will make very little difference.
