Ribs?

A few years ago I went to a Ribs Festival in southern USA. The food was amazing, with ribs with so much meat on them. I've never experienced anything like that over here, either in a restaurant or in the supermarket to cook myself. I can cook nice pork ribs, but nothing like what I had at the Ribs Festival. Was I even eating pork? I assumed so but not sure now - possibly beef, but if so, what cut??

TIA.

Beef have ribs too! Obviously much larger than pork, but they are often cut in half for ease of eating. Their rib tends to be flatter than a pork rib which is more curved IMO. Maybe they had GM pork or just larger pigs?

I cook both pork and/or beef ribs in the pressure cooker with hoisin sauce. Sometimes charring on a BBQ or just eat as in with meat falling off the bone. Yum!

Thanks - I don't think I've ever seen beef ribs at the supermarket. Perhaps I haven't looked though!

I've only ever bought them from a butcher- never seen beef ribs at a supermarket either. They are usually cheaper than pork ribs too!

Our local Turkish restaurant also do lamb ribs which are delicious cooked over their coal oven thing.

These ribs are huge and delicious! I believe the deliver UK wide. They're completely different from supermarket ribs 3-4x the size and dripping in flavour.

Best ribs ever....find a Tesco that still has a meat counter and get their "Meaty pork ribs".
There are no better, meatier ribs!!!!
(3.5h in the slow cooker on high, then finish them on the grill.)

My cousin does fabulous ribs on the bbq. He buys racks of ribs from his local butcher and uses James Martin’s recipe.
