To refrigerate or not to refrigerate?

I made some tear & share bread rolls last night which contain pepperoni and mozzarella. DH put them in an airtight tub but didn't put them in the fridge so they were out overnight, and I'm wondering if they should've been refrigerated. I'm pregnant so trying to be careful with food safety...it'll take us a couple of days to get through them so do I need to refrigerate them now or will they be ok in an airtight tub on the counter?

I have always understood that bread should never be put in the fridge as it encourages the wrong bacteria to multiply, and holds back the good ones. At least that is what I was told at a Sourdough course I went on a few years ago. We never do put bread in the fridge (nor root veg, nor tomatoes nor eggs). There may be some Bio-Chemist along later to say that is all wrong but, hey, I am still alive.
