steam it and serve with butter. make sure it is well cooked but not soggy

Wheelybug · 12/11/2007 18:53

put it in a risotto.

this one goes down well with everybody in my family but is slighlty unusual

Steam the chard, cool down and slice finely, mix with one can of chickpeas and a pack of crumbled feta cheese, also an onion sliced in small pieces and 2 cloves of garlic. Season plus 2/4 (depends on taste) table spoons of olive oil and in the oven for 30mins serve with rice and soya sauce

Very similar to spinach so could also replace spinach in a fish pie

Looks like something I would give to a rabbit but thanks for your suggestions!

Pickie · 12/11/2007 19:36

yes it is really nice best soya sauce to use is ketjap Manis (tescos sell it)

Use instead of spinach in chard & feta filo parcels (Sarah Raven has a recipe if you can find it online)

It's just like spinach, so any spinach recipe should work, or just steam it, but I'd say for no longer than 10 mins.

My DS 1 always asks for more, DS2 won't touch it.

The www.riverford.co.uk website has lots of recipes. The search engine lets you put in the vegetable you want recipes for.
