Prebake or not?

Hi there, I've agreed to cook some family dinners for a family which, due to sickness, the parents need additional help (they also have young children). So I've agreed to cook some family meals and plan to make them in the large tin foil trays so they can warm them up when they want.

For something like shepherds pie, would I make it as normal and bake in the oven. Then let them reheat? Or would it make more sense to let them bake it on the oven themselves but I would obviously do everything BUT pop it in the oven? Hope that makes sense!

Sorry if this is a daft question.

For shepherds pie I would probably just assemble it so they can oven bake it or else the potato might end up too well done -although the burnt bits are considered the best bit in this house!

Thanks @Townorcountrysideliving. I'll do that. Yes I was also worried the meal would ruin if effectively baked twice. I don't mind for mysrlf but I don't want them to think I'm a terrible cook!
