Hidden Gems - Morrisons

I'm just doing a top up food shop from Morrisons (via Amazon) and I was wondering there are any hidden gems I'm missing out on?

Salted caramel doughnuts from the bakery! Only 50p a pack 😋

White chocolate and hazelnut spread. Tastes like the middle of a kinder bueno, tastes even better when it’s been in the fridge.

It does not go on toast in this house, straight on a spoon and into my mouth!

@LetsGoChamp is it this one?! This could be dangerous!

Salt and pepper rolls from the bakery section

Sadly the doughnuts and rolls are available on Amazon but will definitely be added to a list to but when I do visit a store

Our local Morrisons does a lot of ethnic foods that I can't buy elsewhere. The area we live in isn't very ethnically diverse, and I like to cook all types of foods. I can buy a lot of spices in larger bags from Morrisons.

The rhubarb tonic is lovely

Portuguese custard tarts.
Berkshire pork chops, the finest range ones.
Cheese savoury sandwich filler
Blacksticks blue cheese
Large samosas
Finest pizza with ham and mushrooms
Cold smoked trout.

Is that enough for now?

Sorry I missed the post yesterday @MsSquiz! It’s amazing isn’t it? It’s so hard to get instore that when I see it I have to buy two!

Their ‘Best’ range of chocolate spreads are brilliant - the hazelnut one and the dark chocolate one (great on ice cream)

Their meat, particularly beef, is consistently excellent- can’t beat their cuts of topside or silverside for roasting and really good steaks.

The Stout chicken thighs from the hot deli are the best chicken I have ever eaten, I love them.
Also the cooked frozen chicken breast strips are brilliant for a chucking together a quick dinner.

I agree about their meat being great, the gammon joints are a big favourite of mine, whether to have as a hot meal, or just cook and slice to keep in the fridge

we love their sour dough malted bread....in fact its the main reason i shop there rather than waitrose. and its a bit cheaper of course.

Salt and pepper turkey burgers, they their own brand peanut butter. Their free from range is really good too.

Bake at home frozen croissants
Dark choc and sea salt nut bars
Chocolate orange gin liqueur
The Best salted caramel rice cakes

Croissants filled with jam and cream from the bakery.
Lemon curd muffins topped with cream.
Another vote for the salt and pepper bread rolls.
Agree about the meat - all tasty and reasonably priced.
Their fresh meaty-type bbq stuff is also delicious.

You wont get it from Amazon I wouldn't have thought, but their fresh cream Festival Gataux is my absolute favourite, it's the pale green marzipan that does it 🤩🤩

Meat
Coffee beans - I think they're Italian blend, in a silver bag. Great value!

Smooth peanut butter - quite salty, and delicious

Pies! Their steak and kidney pies are outstanding. I bought some posh ones from t'internet recently and Morrisons are so much better.

Love Morrisons, we started going there in first lockdown when the queues were too much elsewhere and now shop there all the time.

Their own brand fruit scones. They are square.
Their salted caramel ice cream.

Annoyingly a lot of these amazing suggestions aren't on the Amazon Morrison's shop... I might see if they deliver here and do a full shop to compare with my usual tesco or waitrose shop.

@LetsGoChamp half of the tub has gone and it hasn't seen anything other than a spoon going straight from the to my mouth! I only allowed DH a small sample spoonful and hid it!

Baked beans

The doughnuts and so on come in and out of availability. It's an annoying system. It won't let you put them in your basket if they haven't got any in store, even if you are having it delivered the next day. They are more likely to be in stick in the morning, we think.

Their meat is much better quality than the other supermarket offerings.
Their fresh bakery is good.
Their fresh flowers / plants are good quality too (better than M&S)
Their basic tshirts, undies, pjs are good 'supermarket' quality
None of these may be avail online though sorry!
Pantry items:
Their own Earl Grey tea is good and second the coffee beans too.
Good range of spices, oils and canned goods.
