Chicken giblets

Forgive my ignorance but what do you do with them?!

I've bought a whole chicken which I'm roasting and then plan to use the leftovers in soup but I've never used the giblets before. Can I just add them in to the pan when I make the stock or do I have to cook them first?

You can use the neck in stock. Personally I don't put the liver etc in stock, I given them to the cat!

Thanks @Cookerhood I obviously need to work out which bit is which!

Urgh I can't be doing with them, I've never had gravy and thought, ooh that's the neck flavour coming through.

@idontlikealdi I'm a bit squeamish about it to be honest, I didn't know it would have the giblets with it as I ordered it online.

Seems like a waste not to use now though 🙄

You stand well back and use your longest kitchen tongs to deposit them in the bin.

Yuk.
