Slow cooker lamb help

ParadiseLaundry · 05/04/2021 09:03

I have a 1.099kg leg joint and am doing it in the slow cooker with stock etc.

Looking at online recipes for ideas of what to put in and they have massively conflicting times! One says 5hrs and one says 8hrs for a joint the same size as mine! It's been so long since I did lamb and I made such a fuss to the family about having a nice lamb dinner and don't want to mess it up, please help!

Definitely 8 hours on low for that size

I don’t think it makes much difference in the slow cooker!

Some put it on high for a few hours then drop to low.

I’ve done both and no really different

Can I come for tea? Love a bit of lamb!

I did 6 hours for a 3kg one yesterday. Came out very slightly pink but perfect for us. I think on low 6 hours on low would probably be fine.

I always find slow cooking requires more salt anyway.

Thank you everyone. I have plenty of time so might go for 6 but can leave it in longer if I need to.

You are more than welcome to join us Bluebellls, you can drink wine with me in the kitchen while I'm preparing the food Smile

I think it must be 8 as Jamie Oliver's 5 hour lamb in the oven is 170
