Which porridge?

Quaker or Scott's oats? Which do you prefer?
Any other recommendations?

I just use cheapest own brand stuff.

I like Aldi's because it comes in paper bags.

Oats are oats aren’t they? Am I missing something?
Saying that though I did make porridge with coop oats at the weekend & had to chuck it all in the bin as it tasted so odd. Probably more to do with the BBE date being Nov 2020.

We like rude health. DH likes the one with dates; I like the one with seeds.

We have Scott's and really like it.

Scotts are good, I used to buy the cheapest supermarket own brand but these are definitely nicer. Whole oats are too chewy for me and don't get to that lovely creamy stage. I don't like oatmeal or pinhead oat porridge either.

Nooo oats are not just oats!

Steel cut oats are the best - 15mins in my instant pot and they are perfect!

Tesco Finest. I mill it a little bit in the food process, add some sugarfree Alpen and it's then like the instant porridge you get that you can just add boiling water to, in a Sistema pot. Nice for quick healthy breakfasts on work days.

Rolled oats - preferably wholemeal - or steel-cut oats. And made with water and salt only

I buy the Aldi oats in the blue paper bag. Lovely and creamy.

Whole rolled oats. I need chewy, can't deal with smooth mushy stuff.
