Quaker or Scott's oats? Which do you prefer?
Any other recommendations?

Mornflake Mighty Oats Scottish Jumbo Oats

I just use cheapest own brand stuff.

I like Aldi's because it comes in paper bags.

MiaMc · 29/03/2021 20:37

Oats are oats aren’t they? Am I missing something?
Saying that though I did make porridge with coop oats at the weekend & had to chuck it all in the bin as it tasted so odd. Probably more to do with the BBE date being Nov 2020.

karmakameleon · 29/03/2021 20:39

We like rude health. DH likes the one with dates; I like the one with seeds.

SquigglePigs · 29/03/2021 21:13

We have Scott's and really like it.

Bloodybridget · 30/03/2021 00:25

Scotts are good, I used to buy the cheapest supermarket own brand but these are definitely nicer. Whole oats are too chewy for me and don't get to that lovely creamy stage. I don't like oatmeal or pinhead oat porridge either.

I like the Flavahans ones

MsMiaWallace · 30/03/2021 07:27

Nooo oats are not just oats!

Steel cut oats are the best - 15mins in my instant pot and they are perfect!

Nospringchickendipper · 31/03/2021 08:30

Flavahans

daisychain01 · 09/05/2021 03:30

Tesco Finest. I mill it a little bit in the food process, add some sugarfree Alpen and it's then like the instant porridge you get that you can just add boiling water to, in a Sistema pot. Nice for quick healthy breakfasts on work days.

LostInTheColonies · 09/05/2021 03:40

Rolled oats - preferably wholemeal - or steel-cut oats. And made with water and salt only Grin

Bluesheep8 · 09/05/2021 11:37

I buy the Aldi oats in the blue paper bag. Lovely and creamy.

olderthanyouthink · 09/05/2021 11:41

Whole rolled oats. I need chewy, can't deal with smooth mushy stuff.
