Desserts without chocolate or nuts which say 'Easter'

Plenty of ideas for Easter desserts/goodies which contain chocolate. But I'd like a couple more with no chocolate which should also be nut free. Obviously there are lots of nut and chocolate free recioes, but none of the things I think of feel very 'Eastery'

I'll be making a fruit cake, might make a Simnel cake in addition.

Help please!

Trifle with fresh fruits

Something with berries? A summer pudding? I understand that Easter is spring not summer, but somehow it still has the right vibe.

Other ideas:

  • hot cross bun bread-and-butter pudding
  • carrot cake cupcakes
  • raspberry mousse
  • lemon and blueberry roulade
  • ice-cream cake made with ice-cream in pastel colours: pink, yellow, green

More lovely ideas thank you, so much to choose from now!

In years when we've been able to have an Easter party I always make carrot cake, lemon drizzle and cake with violas on top (usually strawberry or rose water flavour) - violas are edible and I grow them for this purpose.

@wonkylegs edible flowers are a great idea, very spring like. Too late for me to grow for this year, but definitely will look at this for next year.

A bit late here, but what about Rice Krispie treats put into a muffin tin and shaped like nests. Then fill with a few jelly bean 'eggs'.

@peanutbutterjimjams but not too late! Lovely idea, thank you. It reminded me I have some shredded wheat which would make fab chocolate nests with some mini eggs for the chocolate eaters and I could use toffee(maybe need to think) to bind for the non- chocolate person and use jelly beans as eggs - hadn't thought if that! Thank you

But how can you have a nut-free simnel cake? Isn't almond paste the thing that makes it not a fruit cake?

Sorry I wasn't very clear in the above sentence. I will make a fruit cake without nuts that everyone can eat.
I might make a Simnel cake as well that the non-nut eater won't be able to eat but will have the plain fruit cake so won't mind. Non nut eater is not highly allergic, but is susceptible to cold sores so avoids eating nuts, especially almonds.

Ah, that makes sense!

Happy Easter baking Smile

Thank you @BlueCowWonders - I wasn't very clear and I bet there are people who don't realise marzipan contains nuts if they don't make it from scratch. So you were right to check!
