Microwave cakes - any foolproof recipes?

DS has taken it upon himself to find a recipe that works so we have had quite a few gloopy/rubbery blobs.

They never seem to quite be ‘right’. Has anyone got a recipe that works?

If you’re looking for a single-serve cake in a mug, I like this doughnut one realfood.tesco.com/recipes/jam-doughnut-cake.html, this chocolate one www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/cherryandchocolateca_84273 and this apple one www.sainsburysmagazine.co.uk/recipes/cakes/apple-mug-cake The latter comes out a tad rubbery but I like the flavour.
