Can you reheat rice more than once?

Made a lamb pilaf/stew type of thing 2 days ago which has wholegrain rice in it... put it in fridge, reheated and ate it yesterday, there was a little left so I put it in fridge again... Should I throw it away or is it safe to heat it again properly? I seem to remember rice is one of those surprisingly dodgy foods if not treated right...

I wouldn't. It can contain a small polypeptide that can cause vomiting. Because it is too small to have a 3d structure heating it will not distroy the toxin.

It can make you so sick.

I was warned off do this by my first boss who was a toxicologist

Thanks, glad I asked! Was it dodgy to have reheated it once as well??

not a good idea to reheat it at all really (although it is often done), it's a common cause of food poisoning and people never suspect it!

It has a large surface area so there are plenty of places for bugs and their toxins to hide

My general rule with any food is to only reheat once.

Bin it. I would have thought most foods should only be reheated once.
