Stewing beef cooked from semi frozen

Took it out of the freezer almost 24 hours ago to make a stroganoff-type casserole.
Unfortunately it wasn't fully defrosted.

I browned it on the hob (by the time it was browned it felt soft and defrosted inside), and it will now be in the oven for a couple of hours.

Would you eat it? I am pregnant so if there is a risk i just won't have it but I really fancy it so don't want to go without unnecessarily!

Thank you!

You can cook meat from frozen, it is just hard to provide an accurate cooking time. However, a browned and then slow-cooked dish will be thoroughly cooked and perfectly safe. The raw meat was kept frozen and/ or safely refrigerated for an appropriate time too, so all good.

Thank you! I just read that slow cooking from frozen is bad as slow cooker temperatures are low and the frozen meat would stay in the danger zone where bacteria can multiply for too long. So I started overthinking ! I shall enjoy it, it smells delicious!

Make sure it’s piping hot before you eat it and it’ll be okay - you could always put it into a pan on the hob for a quick blast to be absolutely sure.
