Hi,

I have half a pumpkin and some carrots.

How do I magic them into a soup?!

No onions, have some stock though...

TIA!

sorry never managed a pumpkin soup that didn't taste bland, even revolting. GOod luck to you though, bumping the thread along...

Oh dear!

Would the carrot not make it sweeter?

I was thinking of adding some spices, but not sure which...

PumpkinFang, your recipe sounds gorge!

I decided to go for it, anyway, with what I had.

Sauteed the pumpkin and carrot. Added black pepper and ground cumin, Added veg stock. Blended, then added some chopped up fried bacon.

It was bloody lovely, if I do say so myself! (Am a bit of a crap cook).

And the dds ate it too!

Hooray! Bacon eh? Now that's a good idea..

oh well done, like the bacon idea too.

When I was last moaning about pumpkin soup on MN, everyone was telling me to roast the pumpkin first because then the soup has more flavour. Sounds like you're a better cook than you think you are, eh?!
