Pasta Evangelists meal for 2 less than £15?

I decided to treat us to a box of pasta since I cook from scratch every other night of the week. Got a super deal using a referral link so thought I'd post my link here in case anyone else fancies a night off!

The link gets you 30% off plus free delivery. Main meals are £7-10 each before the discount, so you'll get a meal for two delivered to your door for a really reasonable price.

Dinner was nice! I'm not sure i would pay full price but happy with the discounted option. At least the food seems fresh and it's nice to have a night off cooking.

Ehhhh too expensive for pasta

septemberismyfavouritemonth · 09/02/2021 20:17

I had an awful experience with them. Over priced ready meal - mushroom lasagne. It was grim and expensive and I got a refund. Very disappointing

Curlytops do you happen to get a freebie if someone uses your link Hmm Hmm

I do - I was careful to use the words 'referral link' above for transparency 🙂.

September that's good to know as my husband was eyeing up the mushroom one for next week so we will give it a miss. I've only been disappointed with one dish so far out of about 8 as i felt it was a bit stodgy. The others were all good with a couple of stars.

I agree it's expensive at full price, but actually with the discount, you get main meals delivered for about £5, so I think that's quite reasonable for a 'takeaway' / no cook option.

I was looking at ordering from here but how big is a box? Do I need to double to have enough for 2?

UsernameTaken76 · 10/02/2021 20:58

Double the order that should say*

I really like them tbh (don’t work for them and op hasn’t paid me to say this!) Their ragus are better than I can do and when I’m knackered it’s a quick meal. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it to have a couple in the freezer for quick, nice meals.

Yes - I'd say the portions are fairly generous, more so the normal pastas than the filled pastas. However, yes you would need two portions for two people. I like to think of it like a restaurant experience at home though, so I enjoy perusing the menu then it's ok if we choose different meals 😍.

You get 15% off the second portion if you double up on the same dish though. We've done that once.

Did you find they freeze well? I haven't done this so far, but mostly because the kids are always delighted when the box arrives so they want it there and then. I agree that it's good for a quick meal but it's almost the experience of having a nice fresh meal delivered that i feel i benefit from, rather than 'amazing' food. Because the food is good, rather than amazing, but the feeling of dinner turning up to my door is amazing 😂

We had the deal that included the aperol spritz. The drinks were lovely, the two pasta dishes with it were very average

hopeishere · 10/02/2021 21:26

I also got it fit the free Aperol. Pasta was very average. Won't be ordering again.

Crazy prices for pasta ! Cheaper from the supermarket, I'm sure there is no taste difference either. It's just pasta.

Have you ever tried fresh pasta? There's a massive difference. Also, bear in mind these prices include the sauce, the dressing and toppings where appropriate, including (to my surprise) a fairly high quality parmesan cheese. Roughly £5 (after the discount) per dish to have fresh pasta, sauce etc delivered to my door is a good price.

And by the way, I make my own fresh pasta and it's pretty good. It's also way better than dried pasta but i don't do it all the time because obviously it takes longer.

So if this company can send me a full fresh pasta meal for not much more than it would cost to buy in a supermarket, then it's a once a week treat I'm happy to pay for.

But each to their own - the value of this is all relative, so everyone will have their own opinions on this.

£15 for past for 2? What an utter rip off. Genius business owner though seeing opportunity for this.

Pasta is usually what most people make when they can't be bothered to cook.... so to pay for made pasta... this price is astounding...

If people really can't be bothered.... buy some fresh pasta sauces from a supermarket way cheaper. Unless people are too lazy to even boil water....

curlytops21 · 11/02/2021 13:22

Each to their own but i feel the point is being missed here. Why do people buy fish and chips when they can make their own? Order pizzas? It's just dough with tomato sauce and cheese. The point is that it's a night off. And nice fresh pasta. Do you make your own prawn ravioli? If it's not for you then feel free to give it a miss.

Personally I wouldn't buy a shop sauce or a ready meal. I cook from scratch, including my own pasta sometimes, so i feel like this is a good substitute for a night without cooking.

It's not going to be for everyone and that's fine.
