I thought it would be nice to make a bread and butter pudding for tea and use up some of those home-frozen blackcurrants that we have in the freezer.
Picked out a bag of nice big plump blackcurrants, scattered them inside the bread and butter pudding and bunged it in the oven.
Only then did I pop one of the left-over 'blackcurrants' in my mouth and discover that it was in fact a sloe and I had used one of the bags of sloes that DH keeps in the freezer ready to make sloe gin. Of course nothing in our freezer is labelled...
So, any opinions about how horrible this will be? Shall I chuck it all away and have no pudding? Or eat it and risk stomach ache all round? Anyone else actually eaten sloes?
