Blender recommendation

Our sticker blender is dying & we've decided that due to the increased amount of stuff we want to blend (pasta sauce, batter, etc) maybe a blender would be better.
Any recommendations? Have had a look online & prices range from £30-£600!
We definitely want one that has a self-clean function.

Our stick blender gave up the ghost in lockdown 1 so decided to get a 'proper' blender. I too was amazed at the price of some of them and what they can do, some were like every gadget in one and v complicated looking. However some only did cold things like smoothies and couldn't be used for hot things like soup and I wanted to do both

I went for magimix le bender 1.8 litre as I wanted one with virtually fool proof controls, glass jug, clean function, hot and cold liquids. It was about 150 quid

Have used it loads, esp for daily smoothies and regular soup/sauces and sauces plus the odd dessert like banana ice cream.

Thanks that's really helpful.

We have a vitamix, we waited for ages before getting one. We use it for nut milks as well as blending smoothies and hot stuff.

Tbh, I don’t think it is worth the price. And it has a plastic not glass jug! But DH loves it and he does most of the blending so...

I tend to find it too noisy and powerful so I use an old Aldi blender with a glass jug. But it leaks a bit and has a deep pit (?) around the blade so hard to get all the last bits out unless it is fairly liquid.

Still looking for the holy grail -makes hummus, smoothies, hot drinks and nut milks quietly and without fuss

We've got a kitchenaid one (only because it matches the mixer Smile).

It's really good though...

Have a stick blender, a Bamix that comes with loads of other attachments. Not cheap, but much better than others I've had.

When it comes to professional-grade blenders, Vitamix sets the industry standard for most chefs across the country. Zainyz stated that although they are a pricier option, Vitamix blenders are unmatched in power and can blend up even the toughest ingredients.

Me too, they're a really strong work horse.
