Kitchenaid dough hook help please..

Why does bread dough just wrap itself around the hook and then go round with it, not being kneaded, just spun?

I've tried a wetter dough but it didn't make much difference.

Any advice?

I wondered the same last week when I used it for pasta, but I think it is being kneaded, rather than mixed, and that's still happening when it's being spun around the bowl, no? Not sure - but my dough seemed to be fairly well kneaded after 5 minutes or so.

adjust the height of your hook, google "kitchenaid dime test".

What speed have you got it on? I use a lower speed for dough than I do for beating/whisking.

Also, make sure you wash the dough hook as soon as you have finished, dried on dough is like concrete!

Well!! Had my mixer years and I never knew you could do this!

Thank you!
