Hi
Eldest went to get a vientta out freezer last night and it was about an inch high, where it had clearly defrosted and then refrozen.
Delivered about week ago ( we have eaten other foods out freezer last couple day)
I haven't at any point noticed the door open but i suppose it could of been slighly and someone leaning on it to go to fridge could of shut it.
How do i tell if other food has defrosted and refrozen?
We had chips last night and they were not clumped together , neither is veg
I have a bag of ice cubes and although large amount are stuck they have been for a while from last use , but still loose formed ones on there.
Have a fair bit of raw meat in there, chicken , mince mainly
Also some peas and bits
Couple ready meals
Probably just under half full.
Is there an easy way to tell if things have defrosted and refrozen ?
I have no other ice cream type things to check also.

I would have thought that if your ice cubes and frozen peas are loose and not stuck together the freezer isn't the problem, but the Vienetta may have been thawed and refrozen before you got it.

@BigGapMum thats what I am wondering. I now know in future to check my vienettas.
It was in my bottoms drawer though which is slightly broken the front comes off.
It was late last night so may have another look to see as bin and food waste day tomorrow so if I am going to chuck anything , today would be the day.

Where do you keep your freezer? We have a second one in the garage and during last winter I'd discovered that some softer items (bread, ice cream) were defrosted but the freezer was definitely shut. I discovered then that apparently in a lot of freezers if the outside temp is lower than that of the fridge temperature, then the thermostat shuts off! It's unlikely to happen for any freezer in the house as the room won't get cold enough but if you have one in the garage etc then it could be a problem.
