Red cabbage - help!

I'm making red cabbage and apple which is strictly MIL's job but MIA this year due to Tier 4. I decided to cheat and bought a Schwarz sachet - has anyone tried this and got any top tips to make it perfect?

And plus I realised I'm supposed to have cider, which i don't, so I'm using apple juice from our lovely milkman and a generous slug of apple cider vinegar. Hoping that will be alright.

I used that packet last year, it was nice! I’ve done this overnight which is still undercooked so boiling merrily away on the hob now. I didn’t have cider either so using appetizer and red wine 🤣 www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/slow-cooker-red-cabbage

I use apple juice too and seems fine. It’s nice with a cinnamon stick in while it simmers if you have one and cook for a really long time. I put some butter in as well.

Have you got a pressure cooker?
