Lidl barolo. £11. Incredible. Such a bargain. I keep buying in bulk for when others eventually realise it's the best

Quite light but the Sainsbury's clean skin Beaujolais has been excellent for years

LadyMacnet · 20/12/2020 18:49

Jamshed merlot. £7 but Tesco and Sainsbo alternate reducing it by £1.

@MrsDeadlock, I think people must have seen your post as not a bottle of the stuff to be found in my local Aldi!
I've done the Torro collection too.

Thanks all for your recommendations 🍷

Aldi Toro Loco red, both the organic one and the reserva

Yellow Tail Cab Sauv, around £7. Delicious, easy drinking but still has body.

Bobbiepin · 25/12/2020 19:06

Tesco jimmy roo, the one with a kangaroo on the bottle. Lovely, and I'm not usually a red drinker.

julie81 · 25/12/2020 23:19

Yellow tail jammy red roo, love it. Will look our for the Lidl one now though.

Co-op has really good wines.

I went to Lidls and purchased a few bottles. Pinot Grigio went down the sink after second glass- so sour that undrinkable.
Currently nursing some red that I opened to add to cranberry sauce-it’s not bad.

My shop of choice to go for wines is either Asda (first choice) or Morrisons.
Asda used to have labels on shelves and info on website for award winning wines, some of their own brands are absolutely fantastic.

Here’s a few wines I go for.
It’s up to personal taste,I don’t like too dry or too sweet wines.

I avoid Gallo,Blossom Hill and Black Tower(last one very drinkable but it’s a blend of goodness knows what giving me a headache from hell on the following day after drinking modest amount).

Hardy’s and Lindeman’s have very acceptable wines.

We are talking about red ones here but for whites I prefer Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, not a fan of Sauvignon Blanc which I find too dry.

Oh, got gifted Arabella I think it was from Naked Wines-delicious and Bamrock was also good (haven’t got a clue where from)
