Have some SS and nothing else much in for dinner veges to use up as well. Never used this cut in a stew/casserole type thing. Fed up of stroganoff and stir fry etc!!

Yes but seems an awful waste of a sirloin. Much cheaper cut of meat would do x

Thehairyqueenofscots · 13/12/2020 09:21

I would just fry the steak and have a big tray of roasted veg x

I've done it. I'm not really a steak lover but DH sometimes buys sirloin and doesn't get around to cooking it. I've chopped it up and used it in a stew. It comes out meltingly soft. Delicious.

I know....seems criminal doesnt it. Will save it for the week....stroganoff

ineedaholidaynow · 13/12/2020 09:29

Can you not just eat it as steak?

Overseasmom100 · 13/12/2020 09:52

Just have a steak? Or steak sandwich if you need it to feed more people.

SpaceOp · 13/12/2020 14:17

I wouldn't dream of using sirloin in a stew.

I'd just serve it as steak with whatever veg you need to eat alongside.

This thread has upset me so Sad. Sirloin in a stew - criminal.
Make a steak sandwich with caramelised onions or horseradish, tomato and rocket on toasted ciabatta or something?
Or just have a steak?
