Hi all

Please can I have your fail safe recipes? I have chipolatas though Hmm.

Whenever I've tried to do it before it's been soggy or the sausages are over cooked.

Help!

I'd use thick sausages not chipolatas and find it's not necessary to cook them for as long as most recipes say, before adding the batter.

The only secret for the batter is to make sure the tin/fat is really really hot before adding the batter.

Agree that you should use a tin and make sure it's really hot, if you have oil in it it should really be smoking Smile

I have to use the chipolatas, hence doing this.

Can someone give me a batter recipe plus any other tips?!

I can't understand why I can't do it, my Yorkshire's are always epic Grin

I nearly always use chipolatas and Delia's batter recipe. Get the tin and fat really hot and the sausages go in, immediately followed by batter. If you precook the chipolatas they'll be too hard.

I’ve only ever used this recipe and it’s foolproof (always with chipolatas) www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/sams-toad-hole
