Veggie chilli alternative to tinned tomatoes

I've prepped everything for a veggie chilli for dinner tonight and have just checked and we have no tinned tomatoes (I was so sure we did!). We have tomato purée but that's about the only tomato based product we have in (except ketchup). Would it work with tomato purée and stock or am I going to have to pop to the shop for tinned tomatoes? Any alternative ideas also welcome

Yes, it would work with tomato purée and stock. You could also add a small amount of coco / dark chocolate for a richer flavour,

Amazing thank you. I have heard of putting dark chocolate in but we never have any in as nobody really likes it, but I've never thought to use coco. I have some in the cupboard I'll give it a try, thanks!
