Egg allergy?

Sorry, I know there are lots of threads on egg allergies, but reading them is just getting me more confused so I thought I'd ask directly.

We introduced my daughter to egg this week, started with a teaspoon of hard-boiled egg mixed in with her baby food, then two teaspoons full. She seemed to tolerate it fine, no immediate reaction or fussiness. Yesterday and today she has had dry skin on her cheeks though – little red patches that she doesn't usually have. I'm thinking if that were a sign of allergy it would appear immediately after ingestion, right? So perhaps teething or dry air? (Although I don't think the air is dryer than normal...). Or would those of you with allergy experience say we should proceed with caution re eggs?
