flour mites

Just discovered flour mites inside and all over the top of a bag of flour I only bought a few months ago. Am cleaning the cupboard out with disinfectant and chucking all my flour away. Anyway, it's such a waste and annoying, so I googled it. Apparently the flour mite eggs are already in the flour which makes me feel really sick. However, I really want to eat puddings and cake so after googling I've just put the new small bag of flour I've bought in a plastic bag and am going to freeze it for seven days which apparently kills the eggs. (ugh). You can apparently keep it in the freezer and just spoon out what you want because it has no moisture in it and just stays like normal flour.
Fingers crossed.

I threw out a new bag of flour 2 days ago for the same reason ... will definitely be doing this for next bag

Update on the flour mite saga. Just cleaning out the drawer and found loads of mites tucked up inside a packet of those plastic roasting bags. They weren't actually in the bags themselves so I just wiped each bag with antibac spray and put them in a clean bag. Also putting a bag of cornflour in the freezer.

I had these, deep cleaned but kept finding them for ages.
They're harmless but doesn't make it any less ick when you find them.

I had this, it seemed once they’d appeared they spread to everything else in the cupboard, I had to throw a load of stuff away and clean out the cupboard. I now keep all my flour in the fridge and haven’t had an issue since.

I put my flour into the plastic container like lock n lock to keep it contained.

I put all my flour in the freezer for a week before putting it in the cupboard. But still I get them they.
