Recipe Book for salicylic acid allergy

Hi. My DM has been diagnosed with an allergy to salicylic acid. It's amazing how many foods are high in it - cucumber, grapes, most herbs and spices. It looks like she's limited to meat, fish, poultry and dairy with pears, golden delicious apples and a bit of rhubarb. I'm sure it will get very dull quickly.

It sounds like salicylic acid allergy is quite common so I've Googled to find a book for my mum at Christmas. No luck though.

Just wondering if anyone on MN has a similar allergy and has any suggestions.

Yes, I do.

This one. www.amazon.co.uk/s?ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-a-p_2_11&sprefix=friendly+fo&k=friendly+food&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

It’s done by the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Allergy Unit. This is last years edition. Also www.slhd.nsw.gov.au/rpa/allergy/resources/foodintol/handbook.html

A dietitian trained in the rpah elimination diet will also help.

There is also a fb group- look for Sue Dengate’s Failsafe diet. I have currently mucked up fb so can’t post a link. There are lots of us around.

Thank you @TheSandgroper. The link isn't working for me but I'll try to Google it.

Just to note. - there are a few lists of salicylate levels around on google but the RPAH one in Friendly Food is the only one to trust.

Thank you all. I've found the book on Amazon and bought it. Hopefully it will cheer my DM up a bit!
