Iceland extra chocolatey gateau. But I do love chocolate!

Didn’t they all close? Are there any still open?

They are open and do home delivery subject to area coverage..im in london and had a delivery recently. They might do click and collect, too.

We had a nanny who used to make a sponge cake, prick it all over and spoon over sugar water and/or juice, then top with double cream and pieces of fruit. It was exactly the same as a trench gateau.

Trench gateaux sound like something you'd have had while waiting to go over the top on the Western Front!
