How do you save pesto?

We love it but don't want to eat it every day for a week.
I buy the little supermarket jars and it lives in the fridge but I end up throwing a third away every time as it goes mouldy does quickly.
How can I prevent this?
Thanks

Flatten it down in the jar, wipe around the top and put some olive oil on top... or put the remainder in an ice cube tray and freeze it. You can then use a cube at a time.

Ice cube tray and freeze as per PP above.

Thanks. I tried the olive oil method but it didn't work for me. I'll try freezing.

Freezing is good. I've got a lot of tiny pots from Poundland that I prefer to trays.
