Homemade veggie burgers/nuggets how do I get them to go firm?

I tried making some little veggie nuggets today but my veg was very watery and I couldn“t get them to form shapes. What am Idoing wrong...??

squeeze the excess water out of the veg and add flour. if they still don't stick well, you can add egg as a binding agent.

Or chickpeas. They are quite dry so work well here. Kind of like a falafel.

I think you can add some rice too (at least you can in meatballs and I think it's for keeping things together rather than a cheaper replacement for meat).
