Leftover wine

Hi. I don't drink wine but love to use it in cooking. It's a massive waste currently. Can I keep it in the fridge for more than a few days? I buy those little bottles but they make the recipe really expensive.

Am I missing a trick?

I often use wine for cooking that’s been around for a week or more. Or freeze in Ice cube Trays.

Buy a whole bottle, use what you need and then freeze the rest in ice cube trays for the next time you need some

Yes freeze in ice cube trays or another container in portion sizes you would use in cooking. Works well.

Fab. Thanks all

Sherry, tawny port, brandy and verjuice all keep well. Nigella uses vermouth for the same reason, if I remember correctly.

Or yes to freezing in ice cube trays.

Next time you are cooking OP I'll come round and solve the problem for you.

Seriously ice cube trays work well.

I freeze it in small tubs.

Or buy a wine box (the ones with a tap), I think they keep about 5 weeks once opened.

I have no friends that understand the problem 😂
