Stretching mince

I'm trying to reduce our meat intake and costs a little. Today I used our pack of mince to make a chilli and bolognese. To stretch it a little, I added lentils to the bolognese which tasted really nice. I put sweet corn to the chilli but I was not really keen on the taste/consistency.

Does anyone have any bright ideas for something extra in a chilli? Or any other dish for that matter! How do you stretch out your meat meals?

Thanks

Grated carrots, grated courgette and porridge oats.

I use pretty much the veg mentioned above in a meat chilli, but if I don't have them I'll use others. Eg squash, swede, celeriac or aubergine. Whatever I have really. For protein bulk I add lentils or soy mince, and any tinned beans (except baked beans, which I hate).
