Halfway through making some hearty veg soup for tea (and some to freeze for later), and I've just realised there're some leftover baked beans in the fridge that need using up - if I were to rinse those off and add them to the soup, would they freeze safely?

SOS! Grin

Can't see why not!

schoolcook · 31/10/2020 17:38

Chuck them in they'll be fine.
I used to make a veggie lasagne with beans in and froze it no problem.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/10/2020 17:38

Do it! :)

Hoppinggreen · 31/10/2020 17:39

The issue isn’t safety

Shalliornot · 31/10/2020 17:39

Absolutely

I commit the culinary sin of putting baked beans in chilli (not even rinsed!) and that freezes fine.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 31/10/2020 17:39

Don’t rinse them. I used them loads instead of timed toms in March.

SwampyArmpits · 31/10/2020 17:47

Brilliant, thanks you lot! They're going in!

Update: made soup (with beans!), poured some in bowl - yum yum, so far, so good - then some in freezer bag - watched it pour straight out of a hole in the bottom of the bag and down the plughole 🤦‍♀️

Probably as well given the bean addition

Apileofballyhoo · 01/11/2020 09:56

Oh I'm sorry OP.
