Tell me about Waitrose or M&S Christmas Food

We usually go to my mums for Christmasas she loves to host and cook for everyone, but she already has 4 in the household so this year it doesn't look likely we will be able to join them.

The years i have cooked I have found it stressful and to be honest I don't enjoy the meal much after I have cooked it, so this year we are looking at getting something all prepared.

Initially we though M&S, all looks great but pricey, then saw that Waitrose also do some nice looking stuff and very slightly cheaper.

I wondered how others have found both places, especially if you have tried both, which is best or are they pretty similar?

I would love a stress free, yummy Christmas dinner (we'll eat it another day if we are allowed to my mums, which I hope we are!).

I did see that Asda and Sainsburys also have something similar and quite a bit cheaper, but not sure if the quality is the same?

Their ready basted, ready baconed etc, roast in the bag turkey is incredible – cooks in under two hours and everything is done! I tend to get lots of wr readymade stuff ( or did, via Ocado..) as I don’t relish the martyrdom of slaving over a hot stove which cuts into the Quality Street eating time

I’m always influenced by the BBC Good Food And Good Housekeeping Christmas taste awards. They’ve already been announced this year.

Also check out Cook if you have one near you. We had a stress free Xmas meal one year from them and it was lovely. I know their stuff is frozen but it's good quality. I've used a couple of their chicken dishes for dinner parties and no one realised it wasn't home cooked 😀

We always get M&S, but last year had some things from Sainsbury's the best range, and actually found them better.

Never had Waitrose so cant compare.. but have had M&S Christmas food for years now and it's always delicious. Would definitely recommend for a stress free Christmas dinner.
