Hi all I have a large pack of dumpling mix due to expire at the end of the month.
If I make up the packet and separate into a few portions can I freeze them?

Yes, you have also just reminded me I have some frozen dumplings in my freezer - somewhere!

I did the other day and when I defrostedf them and put them into the casserole they didn't rise and turned into a disgusting mush.

I’d cook them in a steamer then freeze tbh.

I successfully revived my frozen cooked suet dumplings, by steaming them from frozen for about 10 mins (they were only about 6/7cm diameter) - I greased the steamer so they didn't stick. The result was perfectly fluffy and ready for my defrosted stew. I'd never tried this before but will always cook too many dumplings in the future!
