Of course

mawbroon · 04/10/2020 19:40

Yes and the goujons will be fine too

EwwSprouts · 04/10/2020 19:53

Yes I'd freeze and use both.

Thecazelets · 04/10/2020 19:54

Me too.

Mrsjayy · 04/10/2020 19:58

I would cook the chicken freeze them and just freeze the mince as is.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/10/2020 20:00

Precisely what I would do @Mrsjayy

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/10/2020 20:08

I’d would have eaten the goujons. But yes you can freeze on use buy.

GazingAndGrazing · 04/10/2020 20:10

I’d freeze both

DramaAlpaca · 04/10/2020 20:11

I'd have no problem eating the goujons a day past their use by date, and you can freeze the mince on use by as well.

missmouse101 · 04/10/2020 20:15

I'd have eaten the goujons today and made up a nice bolognese to refrigerate for tomorrow's supper.

MyHairNeedsASnip · 04/10/2020 20:17

I'd bin the chicken because chicken scares me, but I've just frozen some mince 2 or 3 days past the use by date because it still looked the same and the packet hadn't puffed up or anything.

peakotter · 04/10/2020 20:18

Mince is fine- that’s what happens when you buy it yellow-sticker and freeze at home. One day over is fine too, they date on the conservative side.

I think you probably did the right thing with the chicken as it’s processed meat so hard to tell if it’s gone off. Although I would have eaten it!

It’s fine as others have said - but I tend to fry it the freeze it so I can bring the ‘ice cube’ in with tomatoes etc for bolognese in the future. Frozen mince tends to stay in the freezer ages as it’s too hard to deal with as difficult to cook from frozen and I’m crap at remembering to defrost. Personally I would eat the goujons too. Grin

Chicken and mince will be fine. The chicken doesn't know it went Ood at midnight. If it smells ok it'll be good to eat
