Pasta salad ideas

DD would like a change from sandwiches in her lunch box and fancies a pasta salad instead. She doesn't like pesto, mayo or tuna, so I have now run out of ideas.

What do you put in your DC's pasta salads?

Does she like lentils?
Pasta with cooked puy lentils and chopped up cucumber and tomato is nice. Dash of olive oil/lemon juice/salt and pepper.

I don't use lentils much, would you but those as a dried food?

You could get one of those pots of sundried tomatoes and mini mozzarella balls and chop some of that up to put in.
Greek salad with pasta - cucumber, tomato, feta and black olives. Drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of oregano.

Yes, you can buy them dried and just cook the amount you need. You can also buy them in pouches ready cooked for speed.

Mini mozzarella balls, cooked prawns, halloumi chunks or chorizo are good for protein.

Greek salad with pasta chucked in is always a a winner. Or couscous as an alternative to pasta.

Creamy/sweet dressings with either yogurt, tahini, avocado or honey - lots of fresh herbs.

Pasta with diced chicken, walnuts, white grapes or sultanas, finely chopped celery and French dressing.

Pasta with diced naice ham, chopped roasted (or preserved in oil) peppers, spring onions, chopped olives.

Pasta with cold sliced sausages, red onions, tomatoes (fresh or anti-pasta jarred) finish with a tomato flavoured dressing.

Pasta with left over duck, spring onions, chopped cucumber and hot-sin dressing.

For convenience you could buy tinned Puy lentils ready to use in salads.

Thanks for the ideas, I will have a trial run of a few tomorrow to see what DD likes enough to have instead of her beloved cheese and cucumber sandwiches.
Her only stipulation is that the past must be multi-coloured, so I will be off to a supermarket in a bit.

Cook red onion, cherry tomatoes and bacon add to pasta mix in blue cheese. My kids love this for lunch and so easy.

We like ham, pineapple and red pepper with honey and mustard dressing.
Cooked and diced chicken tikka pieces with red onion, cucumber and mango with raita dressing.
Blue cheese, apple, grape and celery.
As you can see we have no problem with fruit in salads here!

These are great.
