Out of date by one day. Use or bin??

In water? I’d open it and have a sniff and poke and taste a bit. If it’s odour free and doesn’t all fall apart I’m sure its fine.

Gumbo · 01/10/2020 15:56

One day?! I'd cheerfully use it even a couple of weeks out of date if it looked/tested ok... you'll be fine!

Bernardstolemywatch · 01/10/2020 15:57

One day! It’ll be fine for ages yet.

IsThisNameTaken · 01/10/2020 15:58

Use it .... unless it is obviously off, but highly unlikely in just 1 day

AdaColeman · 01/10/2020 15:58

One day? I'd still use that.

aloevera2 · 01/10/2020 16:02

Thanks all. It is mozzarella in water. I haven't opened it yet to sniff but I reckon it'll be ok 👌

I learned a fact recently... the fridge door is not as cool as the middle shelf...

I’m sure everyone else knew that but I feel like a genius now.

It’s kind of related because i used to keep my mozzarella on the egg shelf on the fridge door and often it would bloat up around well by date.

aloevera2 · 01/10/2020 16:12

Luckily for me I keep it on the middle shelf!

Use!

OldEvilOwl · 03/10/2020 14:09

And maybe freeze next time? They don't have a great date so I just freeze it and get it out the day I need it

ABCDay · 03/10/2020 14:16

I didn't think you could freeze mozarella. Bugger, I've been force feeding myself with the stuff when I've not been in the mood for it.

I didn't realise it could be frozen either. Will definitely start doing that though!

Eat it. Am about to have some with a use by of last week on my toast. If it looks ok, smells ok, tastes ok then i assume it is ok.

Oblomov20 · 07/10/2020 15:45

It'll be totally fine.

RHOBHfan · 07/10/2020 22:14

Wouldn’t occur to me not to...

StanfordPines · 07/10/2020 22:16

Open it and see what it’s like.
I’ve had some go off before the date and some that’s been fine about a week after.

It’ll taste like off milk of it’s bad. Also it won’t be a firm as it should be.

CurlyMango · 17/10/2020 21:38

Had some yesterday which was a good six weeks out of date, all is well

InTheLongGrass · 17/10/2020 21:45

Open it, and sniff, but based on my experience of out of date mozzarella, it will be fine. We usually cook it. Eating ut raw I might be mire darefull.
Fascinated by the idea of freezing it. That could be a game changer!

iknowimcoming · 17/10/2020 21:47

It's one of those items that if it's off there's no doubting it - one sniff and you'll know!
