I got some leftover homemade cottage pie out of the freezer this morning, but after having a really s*&t day (8 mths preg and running round all day after 2yr old DS) I really fancy a takeaway instead! Question is, will the cottage pie be alright in the fridge to have tomorrow night instead as I really don't want to waste it - mucho gracias in advance

Yes should be fine. But no later than tomorrow.

I think official guidlines are 24hrs but I always (rightly or wrongly) assume this is 24hours after it has fully defrosted - which presumabley would have been mid afternoon anyway?

within 24hrs of defrosting

It's been defrosting all day today and is now in the fridge, so it was prob comp defrosted around 5pm tonight, so it should be ok for around 7pm dinner tomorrow? Being preggers don't want to take risks but really fancy a curry tonight!
